Cancer, Grief and God: A Widow’s Story with Kristine Mauss
How do you help someone going through something really hard?
At the young age of 37, Kristine’s husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. Their world stopped: The baby they were supposed to adopt. The new business her husband dreamed of building. Their plans for a new home. All took an abrupt halt.
Mike, beloved by many, lost his battle with brain cancer at the young age of 41.
Kristine, mom of four, walks us through the initial diagnosis, caring for her sick husband, hospice and navigating through unknown issues. And, how she and her kids are coping with their loss.
Kristine is openly Catholic and shares how her faith has played a role in this journey. Even if you are of a different faith background, or not practicing, Kristine has worthy advice for any life journey.
She also provides valuable grief insights for those suffering from loss.
Kristine tackles tough questions like:
How do you tell your kids your dad has brain cancer?
Are you mad at God?
How do you keep praying and believing even when you feel no one is listening?
What advice would her husband Mike share with each one of us?
What is hospice really like?
Today’s episode will touch your heart—and your soul.
