As we close out this year, listen in as the hosts re-capture the highlights of SPACE IN 60 – 2021.
Podcast: SPACE IN 60 Episode: 2021 Recap Welcome to the SPACE IN 60 podcast, where hosts Clint Graumann, Chad Baker, and Andrew Pylypchuk bring you into the world of the NewSpace industry! Today, Clint, Chad, and Andrew take a look back at their year and some of their favorite episodes. One of the coolest aspects of their show is that from the very beginning they’ve always had interesting guests on the podcast to share stories and discuss important topics. They begin sharing clips from all their 2021 episodes. In their first episode, Moriba Jah shared a story about him attacking a cow that quickly became a podcast favorite. He also explained that most of what goes up into space doesn’t come down and what makes up space debris. Then Suzie Ember came on for episode two and discussed what it takes to be an astronaut. In one of their favorite episodes, Christina Korp came on to talk about her time working for astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Her experience in the music industry brought her to singing backup on a rap track with Snoop Dogg and Buzz Aldrin. On episode five, Chris Biddy came on to talk about putting a satellite in space. Clint, Chad, and Andrew also asked him about his garage moment and the clean room he built in a gas station. Ben Haldeman came on in the next episode to talk about how to get your DNA in space. The guys haven’t sent their DNA to space yet because they’re a little concerned about aliens getting their DNA. In the next episode, they learned that there are 64 sizes of gloves at NASA for all the different hand sizes astronauts have. Dan Klopp also reminds the guys that space suits are airtight, and much to Clint’s dismay, you can’t walk around the office in them. When their friend, Kam Shahid, came on the podcast he disappointed a lot of people by letting them know that satellites weren’t run by an old school joystick. Instead, driving a satellite is decision making, analysis, and data. Then their second musician came on the show, Steve Lee discussed how the information he learned in the music industry helped him transition into the space industry. He also explained that space technology is of great value to everyone on the planet and their actual day-to-day problems. When they had Laura Crabtree on the podcast, she talked about how she received a phone call from her friend Doug while he was in space. He was just checking in, but that’s not the only phone call Laura’s received from space. Then they look back on their conversation about running a space company with Awais Ahmend.
