Resilience Podcast Episode 27: Supporting Children in Therapy with Christina McBride
Christina McBride, LPC, provides clients of all ages with a safe, comfortable, and non-judgemental space to express emotions, process past trauma, and work together to tackle challenges of daily life.
Christina is a trauma-informed and person-centered therapist who utilizes CBT, TF-CBT, problem solving, music, art, and play in her sessions. She received her MA in Counseling from Liberty University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-1) and is trained to facilitate autism testing.
Christina’s journey helping kiddos began in the classroom. She has an MEd from the College of William and Mary, and taught elementary school for four years. Through teaching, she discovered her passion for helping kiddos express big emotions and set personal goals. She also worked as a Therapeutic Day Treatment counselor and also has experience with in-home and crisis counseling.
During her nine years in the counseling field, Christina has worked with individuals with the following concerns: Autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar, mood disorders, impulse disorders, grief, and self-harm/suicidal ideation. Christina works with individuals aged 5 and up.
In her free time, Christina enjoys hiking with her husband, traveling, and playing the flute.
