Resilience Podcast Episode 28: Navigating Mental Health Crisis with Andrew Lawson

Andrew Lawson, LCSW, subscribes to a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy. In practice, he utilizes EMDR, supportive counseling, positive psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing to develop a plan for his clients. Andrew graduated with an undergraduate degree in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, and earned his Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Andrew began working in the mental health field in 2011 and has practiced in a variety of settings including: psychosocial rehab, intensive community support, intensive in-home, mental health skills building, crisis mental health, case management, and outpatient therapy. Andrew is LGBTQIA+ affirming and has a trauma-informed approach. Andrew has extensive experience working with individuals with complex trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, severe mental illness, bipolar disorder, traumatic experiences, grief, anger, stress, familial conflict, and substance abuse.
