Resilience Podcast Episode 29: Impacts of Social Media on Young Minds, with Rebecca Ozmore, M.Ed., LRIC
Rebecca Ozmore, Resident in Counseling, believes that every individual has a story that should be heard. She feels that working through life situations, together with clients, provides healing, and her friendly, welcoming demeanor sets the tone for counseling sessions.
Rebecca obtained her B.S. degree in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech. She later earned her M.Ed. in Counselor Education, followed by a Professional Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitative Counseling, both from VCU. She spent over 20 years working as a school counselor, where she developed valuable experience in working with children and their families.
Rebecca tends to use strengths-based and mindfulness approaches, as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), to help individuals discover their own personal goals and work towards achieving them. While her background and main area of interest are in working with children, she will work with any age and population to address concerns with anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, trauma, family relationships, transitions, and life changes. Rebecca will work with clients in-person or virtually.
