Episode 31: Parker Nissen

Today’s episode (#31) was a fun and emotional one to make, as our guest is our own intern/Rob’s assistant, Parker Nissen! Parker started the podcast last year, and we found it only fitting that he be the guest during his last week at RISE ministries, before he leaves to start law school at the University of Iowa next week! Listen in to hear Rob and Parker talk about their last year and a half together, Parker’s faith journey, and what this experience means to him going forward. A note from Parker: “I was so honored to be interviewed on our own podcast this week, and had so much fun coming to the mic😊. This has probably been the most influential and impactful year of my life, and, as strange as it is to say, being sent home because of COVID last March was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. My time at RISE has been beyond special, and our mission is one that I’ll be trying to live out for the rest of my life. I have seen teamwork, selflessness, faith, and community demonstrated here in a way that I will never forget, and this organization and community are truly unique. Ellie Waring is the hardest working, kindest hearted, most selfless person I have ever met, and I have learned so much just getting to work beside her. Rob and I got close very quickly, and I am so proud to now call him one of my very best friends, my mentor/role model, and an extra parent. Being trusted by him is one of the greatest honors I have ever been given, one that I can’t describe in words. I will forever live my life trying to “see a need, meet a need”. To all who listen to the podcast, support RISE, and have been so kind and loving to me: THANK YOU. I love all of you so much, and am always just an email/message away.
